WorkCabin is an environmentally-focused online company founded in 2007. We are based in the heart of the ecologically rich Carolinian Zone, Canada's most diverse ecosystem.
Like you, we want to continue to hear great horned owls hoot, watch red foxes raise their kits, and salamanders begin life in vernal pools. That's why we plant hundreds of tree seedlings every spring (yes, the backs get a little sore!) and work to preserve, restore and enhance habitat for animals, amphibians and birds.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
WorkCabin connects qualified and skilled green-focused job seekers to meaningful career-track environmental employment opportunities, including entry level, mid level and senior level, and to high quality employers who embrace sustainability and stewardship.
WorkCabin is proudly Canada's first professional, dedicated Environmental Job Site. Why do we make that statement? Being a job site is our #1 focus. We are not a 'job board'. And we do not treat environmental or green job postings as secondary to many other services. Most importantly, WorkCabin is managed by people who do conservation work, and are employed directly in Canada's conservation sector. In a nutshell, that's what makes us genuinely different. We do more than just talk about the environment.
Leading Canadian employers across the environmental spectrum, including non-profit jobs, conservation jobs, green jobs, green collar jobs, sustainability jobs, green building jobs, organic jobs, renewable energy jobs and government agencies, work with us. WorkCabin is open to employers who have high-quality environmental jobs and/or embrace stewardship and sustainability. In a 2010 national survey of our web users, 86% rated the quality of jobs found at WorkCabin to be excellent to good. Employers who use our service know they will not be overwhelmed by inappropriate resumes.
Our commitment includes using Bullfrog Power, Canada's leading retailer of 100% green electricity. Because of that investment in green renewable energy, WorkCabin will annually offset its emissions footprint by an estimated 4.79 tonnes of CO2 (the primary gas that causes climate change).
OK, maybe that's not going to change the world. But, for us, it's another small step toward doing what's right.
Thanks for visiting WorkCabin.ca. We're here to help you build a great future working for the environment.
