Renewable Energy Jobs, one of the world's most visited websites for clean energy jobs, has compiled a list of the top 35 green job sites on the planet, based on visitor traffic data compiled by Alexa, The Web Information Company (a service often described as the Nielsen Ratings of the Internet). WorlCabin.ca is honoured to be listed No. 9 in the world, and the only Canadian green job site in the top 35.
"Obviously we're thrilled at the recognition," said WorkCabin.ca president Gregg McLachlan. "But most importantly, WorkCabin.ca this provides more measurable evidence of WorkCabin.ca's enormous growth in popularity since we launched the service less than two years ago. Canadians have clearly embraced WorkCabin.ca."
The site is currently averaging between 40 and 60 jobs, internships and volunteer positions per month.
With any startup company, you need visitor traffic first (ie. job seekers), he said, and that in turn drives more and more organizations and companies to choose WorkCabin.ca.
"Growing our client base is a continual process at this stage of our existence," McLachlan said. "But we are successfully growing that base because our service is getting extensive visitor traffic and we are committed to a genuine approach. For us, it's all about being affordable, professional, ethical, and above all, taking measurable steps to be green ourselves. To do anything less wouldn't be fitting of calling ourselves a green job site."
WorkCabin.ca's green efforts were recently recognized in the David Suzuki Foundation's guide, Doing Business in a New Climate.
"Job seeker traffic is the life blood of any job board in any sector," says the report on Renewable Energy Jobs. "Beyond traffic it is then for employers and recruiters to make a judgement on the relevance of that traffic for their job vacancy, agency or business."
The top-35 list focused on job sites with a "significant and obvious focus on green / renewables jobs." The other criteria was that the sites had to be primarily job sites with job search facilities displayed prominently on the sites' home page.
WorkCabin.ca is Canada's first dedicated Environmental Job Site -- being an environmental job site is the No. 1 focus.
